Physical activity at work
About one-third of all cancers can be prevented by eating well, being active and maintaining a healthy body weight. Regular physical activity benefits the body in many ways and helps protect against chronic disease, including cancer. Work environment, operating practices and workplace culture are all important factors in helping employees stay active. If you drive to work, sit at a desk all day, and use all the conveniences of modern life, you probably need to move more throughout the day. It is important to reduce sitting time and encourage employees to move throughout the day by taking mini breaks, exercising at lunch, or going on a walking meeting.
